Every two years prior to the November General Election, Westminster Chamber of Commerce hosts all Westminster Mayoral and City Council Candidates in a Candidates Forum. All of the candidates for each office are invited to participate in the event that is shown live on WTV3 and taped for future re-broadcasts. The Chamber conducts this forum to allow the candidates to speak to the issues and to provide an opportunity for voters to ask questions.
The Candidates will take questions from the audience during the 2-hour live Forum. As many qualifying questions* as time allows will be used. Questions may be submitted in advance to the Chamber. *Open Question Form for rules
The Westminster Candidates Forum will be broadcast live and videotaped by PCTA (Public Cable Television Authority) for rebroadcast throughout October. The City of Westminster’s WTV-3 can be seen on Time Warner Cable channel 3, Verizon channel 42, and AT&T channel 99 in Westminster.

The format consists of written questions which are screened by a panel to avoid duplication and demeaning intent. Each candidate will have:
A maximum one and one-half minutes for an opening statement
The opportunity to be first to respond to a question determined by a blind draw of the candidates’ names from a box. Each time a candidate’s name is drawn, it will be set aside until all candidates’ names have been drawn. When all names have been drawn, the names will be placed back into the box and the same procedure will continue until time or questions run out.
A maximum of one and one-half minutes to respond to each question
A maximum of one and one-half minutes for a closing statement
Mayoral candidates will have the opportunity to answer questions during the first session followed by the Council candidates in the second session
